Im Herbst fressen sich Igel wichtige Fettreserven für den Winterschlaf an. In Radebeul in Sachsen kümmert sich ein Verein um hilfsbedürftige Igel, die ohne Unterstützung möglicherweise nicht durch den Winter kommen.
Nicht jeder Igel, den man im Herbst oder Winter entdeckt, braucht Hilfe. Laut NABU sollte man vor allem dann eingreifen, wenn ein Igel verletzt, krank oder deutlich geschwächt ist oder bei Frost tagsüber umherirrt. In solchen Fällen empfiehlt es sich, eine Igelstation zu kontaktieren, statt das Tier eigenständig zu versorgen.

PCG DRIVES AWAY FOREIGN FISHING VESSEL FROM TERRITORIAL SEA OF LAWAK ISLAND
WATCH: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) drove away a foreign fishing vessel from the territorial sea of Lawak Island, Kalayaan Island Group today, Oct. 23.
PCG monitored the foreign fishing vessel lying approximately two nautical miles northeast of the island, well within its 12-nautical-mile territorial sea, according to PCG Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Rear Admiral Jay Tarriela in a social media post.
"The PCG team conducted multiple radio challenges and issued repeated verbal warnings and instructions directing it to leave the territorial sea of Lawak Island. The vessel subsequently started its engine and proceeded northward, away from the island,” Tarriela added.
