1. Child safety
We have zero tolerance for content that sexualises minors (including drawings and AI-generated material) or that shows minors in abusive, dangerous or exploitative situations. We remove it, terminate the account and report it to the authorities, including Indian law enforcement under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and, where relevant, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Content that features minors must protect their privacy and wellbeing. Do not encourage minors to do dangerous things, share their personal information, or contact them for inappropriate reasons.
2. Nudity and sexual content
- No pornography or sexually explicit content, and no content intended for sexual gratification.
- No intimate images or videos shared without the consent of everyone shown, including fake or AI-altered intimate images. We act on reports of this within 24 hours.
- Educational, documentary, scientific or artistic content with nudity may be allowed with context. It may be age-restricted.
3. Violence and dangerous content
- No threats, incitement to violence, or content that praises or glorifies violent acts or their perpetrators.
- No content that promotes or supports terrorist or violent extremist organisations, or recruits for them.
- No instructions for making weapons or explosives, and no dangerous challenges or pranks that risk serious harm.
- No content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please reach out: in India you can call Tele-MANAS on 14416.
- Graphic content for news, documentary or educational purposes needs context and may be age-restricted.
4. Hate speech
No content that promotes violence or hatred against people based on religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic. This includes slurs, dehumanising language, harmful stereotypes and content that promotes enmity between groups.
5. Harassment, bullying and privacy
- No targeted abuse, insults, threats or encouraging others to harass someone.
- No sharing of someone's private information, such as their address, phone number, identity documents or financial details ("doxxing").
- No secret recordings in private settings, and no content that reveals someone's identity in a way that puts them at risk.
- Respect requests from people who appear in your content to blur them or remove them where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
6. Misinformation and manipulated media
- No false or misleading content that could cause real-world harm, for example about health and medicine, emergencies and disasters, or elections and voting.
- No fake government notices, fake news presented as real, or content that misleads people about where it came from.
- Label realistic AI-generated or altered content. No deepfakes that make a real person appear to say or do something they did not in order to deceive or harm.
7. Spam, scams and fake engagement
- No spam, repetitive or mass-posted content, or misleading titles, thumbnails, tags and descriptions.
- No buying, selling or trading of views, likes, subscribers, comments or ad clicks, and no clicking your own ads.
- No phishing, fake giveaways, pyramid or "get rich quick" schemes, or links to malware.
- No pretending to be Elsetube staff, or asking people for their passwords or payment details.
8. Regulated goods and illegal activity
No content that sells, promotes or facilitates illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, wildlife products, forged documents, hacking services, human trafficking, illegal gambling or betting, unverified online money games, or prescription medicines without the required licence. Do not use Elsetube to plan or carry out any illegal activity.
9. Impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person, channel, brand or organisation. Fan, parody and commentary channels are welcome if they make clear that they are not the real person or brand.
10. Copyright and imported content
Only upload or import content you own or have permission to use. Imported videos must be ones their owners allow to be embedded on other websites. Re-uploading movies, TV shows, sports, music or other people's videos without permission is not allowed. See the Copyright & Content Removal.
11. Live streams, comments and messages
The same rules apply in real time. Do not stream copyrighted events (such as sports matches, films or TV broadcasts) without permission. Creators are responsible for moderating their live chats and comments, and can remove comments and block users.
12. Ads, products and monetisation
- Ads must be truthful, lawful and follow these guidelines; we review ads and may remove any of them.
- Affiliate products and funnels must be real, accurately described and disclosed as affiliate links.
- Paid promotions and sponsorships must be disclosed.
- Content that earns from ads must be suitable for advertisers. We may limit or remove ads from content that is not.
13. How we enforce these guidelines
- Removal of content that breaks these guidelines.
- Age restriction or reduced visibility for content that is allowed but not suitable for everyone.
- Strikes: a first violation usually gets a warning. After that, each violation gives a strike that expires after 90 days. Three active strikes within 90 days lead to termination of the channel.
- Immediate termination for severe abuse (such as child sexual abuse material, terrorism, non-consensual intimate imagery or credible threats), for accounts created to get around a ban, and for repeated copyright infringement.
- Loss of monetisation or of access to features such as live streaming, Ads Manager or imports.
We may also report illegal content to the authorities and preserve information as the law requires.
14. Reporting and appeals
Use the Report option on any video, comment, channel or ad, or our contact form. Reports are confidential: we do not tell the person reported who reported them. If you think we made a mistake, you can appeal through our contact form or to our Grievance Officer. We review appeals and reverse decisions that were wrong.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first (112 in India).
