And will Elon Musk's campaign donations help sway things for the GOP?
1:02 What are the midterms and why do they matter?
03:51 What does it take to be an "informed voter"?
05:59 How does gerrymandering work?

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the closure of the entire occupied West Bank and the cancellation of his party's political events after a shooting.
Five Israelis were wounded and two suspected Palestinian attackers killed by Israeli security forces after a shooting near the city of Hebron, Israeli officials say.
The attack comes at a time of high tensions in the West Bank, with extremist Jewish settlers targeting Palestinians during the annual olive harvest, and Israel's general election taking place in four days time.
The West Bank was already expected to be placed under lockdown for the election on Monday and Tuesday, according to Israeli media.

US President Donald Trump has said that something will happen "fairly soon" in his country's conflict with Iran. It comes amid reports that the US and Israeli militaries have developed plans for a major new wave of strikes.
Meanwhile, oil prices have risen to their highest for five months. Trump puts the blame on Iran, saying the country is doing all it can to drive prices up before the US midterm elections.
Reports from Saudi Arabia say that the state oil company Aramco has evacuated its headquarters in the eastern city of Dhahran, as Houthi attacks on the country continue.
And inside Yemen, the United Nations says more than two million children are malnourished.

07:23 We hear from Arab-Israeli voters - also known as Palestinian citizens of Israel - as Israel prepares for its first general election since the Hamas attacks of 7th October 2023. Polls show that neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nor his main rivals have an easy path to forming a coalition government. That means small Arab-majority parties could hold the balance of power, depending on whom they decide to support.

Oil prices have surged to a five-month high, above $US114 per barrel, on concerns the US will start attacking Iran again after the November mid-term elections. It's raising concerns about stubborn inflation and further interest rate hikes.
Those concerns led to a sharp fall in the gold price and a sell-off across AI-centric markets like Wall Street's Nasdaq 100, which plunged by almost 3 per cent.
In a rising interest environment, investors are getting worried about the huge spending and increasing debt levels of Microsoft, Meta (Facebook), Alphabet (Google), Oracle, Amazon and other AI 'hyperscalers'.
